How do I find Research?!
There's plenty of research on campus! You just have to search and find your favorite subject. The first place to look is here:
http://www.ugeducation.ucla.edu/ugresearchsci/default.htm
You can also visit them in life sciences 2121. There are many great programs and opportunities that you can check out!
Here are some labs that are specifically looking for undergrad students:
http://www.ugeducation.ucla.edu/ugresearchsci/srppositions.htm
BUT this isn't the full list! There's tons of professors that don't have the time to send their status to the research center

Oh No. I don't know what classes to take next quarter!!!!
That's ok! You can get academic counseling to plan out your classes at UCLA so you don't exceed your unit cap or get screweed over in the end.
There are 3 kinds of counseling services, AAP, Honors, and departmental. If you belong to AAP or Honors, it's much better since they have a smaller student pool and so they spend more time with you! If not, your departmental counselor can see you as well.
You can always shoot us an email if you just need advice with what professors to take or what series to take in what order!
Is there tutoring here?
Ofcourse! For upper division courses, not so much but some very popular ones offer peer learning.
Peer learning with AAP
If you are a "disadvantaged" individual, you may be eligible for AAP (Academic Advancement Program). To check, their office is available in Campbell (the whole building is for them). They provide peer learning for almost all the popular courses!
Peer learning with Life Science Core
If you're taking a life science class (LS1,2,3,4 etc.) they offer tutoring through their department. The sign-ups are usually during 1st or 2nd week and they'll appear in myucla as "Peer Learning" under "Academics"
Going to TA/Professor's Office hours
I cannot express how amazing this is. FIrst you get the first look on what you should be focusing on, and second you get to know more about your professor! Go with questions, and you'll learn more than anything!
Honor Societies Tutoring
Some Honors socieities will provide tutoring to anyone of certain majors.
Private Tutoring
If all fails and you feel that you need more 1:1 attention and the grade is worth more than the money, go ahead and seek out some private tutors. Sometimes they will have a 1 hour trial session to see if you like their style.
I don't know what career to choose!
Uh Oh! Don't worry you DO know! You just need some soul searching. And I know just the place where to get some! the UCLA Career Center!!
They have fairs, professional career counseling, resume/CV writing, and much much more! They even have personality to career match so that you can really find out what you want. Sometimes they will make presentations around campus, so watch out for them!
They're located at Strathmore in Westwood plaza, which is a bit difficult to get to but you can use the interactive map!
You can also subscribe their weekly emails! They'll keep you posted for all the official recruiting sessions hosted by them!
One last thing, DON'T forget to attend the career fairs!! There are infinite different ones going on on campus every quarter! We have tech start-ups, consulting groups, construction & engineering companies...literally everything you can think of! Just pay attention to the flyering people!
